About my area

We live in a small hamlet with lovely French neighbours who have been the most welcoming people we have ever met - it is lovely and quiet and the sky at night is wonderful - you never tire of looking at the stars. We decided to live here because it was in equal distance to both Limoges and Poitiers airports - both one hour away. The scenery is stunning and there is plenty to do especially if you are into outdoor activities. The River Gartempe is not far away and also the town of Montmorillon famous for its books and writing is just a twenty-minute drive away. Once you are here you will never want to leave!

About me

We have dreamt about moving to France for around 10 years with life events always getting in the way of our plans until then in a breath we had sold our house in England and we did it! We are now the proud owners of a set of three little cottages, all needing restoration - roofs, water, electricity, fosse septic... you name it! Together with our three horses and three dogs, both Caron and I have settled into French life really quickly. I was in Telecom Sales for 28 years and decided to take early retirement after quite frankly burning myself out living the corporate life day in day out. We have immersed ourselves into French life and have more friends here than we ever did in the UK! From helping out at the local Fete to Karaoke at the local bar… life is now one big adventure.
